About the tour
Cast your eyes on La Bufadora (Blow Hole), the largest sea geyser in North America, and mayor natural attraction from Baja California, on this 4-hour guided tour from Ensenada. Located in the Punta Banda Peninsula, La Bufadora shoots water out of a sea cave more than 100 feet into the air.
After capturing this striking natural feature with your camera, browse through a crafts market and pick up one-of-a-kind souvenirs. Your in-the-know guide shows you a variety of seaside restaurants where you can relax and taste local food and drinks.
You will visit the famous Andalusian Bar
It is a fundamental element of Mexican culture and a symbol of mestizo identity.
They are the cultural identity of a region and are transmitted from generation to generation.
Itinerary
We will pick you up from your hotel in Ensenada or Valle de Gaudalupe around 10:00 am. The meeting point for cruise ship visitors is Riviera Cultural Center.
After midmorning pickup, travel with your guide about 24 miles (39 km) south of Ensenada to the Punta Banda Peninsula. On the route, learn about general info about Ensenada, different spots in the city, and activities of the region, enjoy the landscapes of mountains and the Pacific Ocean while surrounding all the bay.
Arrive at La Bufadora village, walk with your guide around 3 blocks through the market to get to the main event, La Bufadora (blow hole). Hear from your guide about how air, trapped in a sea cave, causes water to explode upward, often shooting more than 100 feet (31 meters) above sea level, creating a thunderous noise.
Depending on the strength of the waves, this phenomenon repeats about every 1-2 minutes, so you can be sure to see La Bufadora in action.
Then, your guide takes you to a popular sidewalk market of handicrafts and souvenirs made in Baja California, and give you free time to find fun home décor items and gifts, and/or relax with food and drinks at one of the nearby restaurants (own expense) offering stunning views of the ocean.
You will meet your guide again at 1:00 pm, in order to get back to your hotel at 2:00 pm.
